OAKLAND -- Eight shootings across the city in a 24-hour period have left two dead and seven others wounded, police said.

On Saturday morning, 18-year-old Greysi Morales-Cordon, mother to a 3-year-old boy, was found shot to death in her East Oakland apartment complex, hours after a spate of nonfatal shootings, police said.

Morales-Cordon was found about 7 a.m. on a landing in the three-story building in the 1800 block of 28th Avenue in the Fruitvale district.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her son, police said, is being cared for by relatives.

Police do not have a motive for the killing, and no arrests have been made.

Shortly before 3 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the 5900 block of San Pablo Avenue. He was pronounced dead at a hospital around 3:32 p.m.

The man has been identified as Oakland resident Aaron Marks.

The fatal shooting was the city's fourth since Wednesday night. None are related, police said.

The homicide was the city's 113th of the year, three more than all of last year.

There were also six nonfatal shootings in the city between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, with no suspects or motives determined.

On Saturday, about 11:15 a.m., a man was shot in the 2300 block of 62nd Avenue. Police said he was in stable condition at a hospital.

Less than an hour later, a woman was wounded while riding in a car in the 700 block of Sycamore Street. Police said the woman was apparently shot by an occupant of another vehicle in what they believe was a drive-by shooting. The woman was in critical but stable condition at a hospital, police said.

At 1:14 p.m., a man was shot in the arm in the 1400 block of Broadway Avenue, in the heart of downtown. The man was in stable condition at a hospital, police said.

Two more shootings were reported later, though only one resulted in a man being transported to the hospital. He was in stable condition Saturday night, police said.

There were also three nonfatal shootings in Oakland within eight hours Friday.

About 4:30 p.m., a man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound. He would only say he had been shot near the intersection of Seminary and Avenal avenues in East Oakland and would not cooperate further, police said. He was in stable condition.

At 6:40 p.m., two men were shot while riding in a car in the 3300 block of Birdsall Avenue in East Oakland, apparently by the occupants of another vehicle, police said. The men were able to drive themselves to a hospital and were in stable condition.

At 11:50 p.m., a man was shot in the 5800 block of Shattuck Avenue in North Oakland. He was able to get to a hospital on his own and was in stable condition.
