SAN JOSE -- A man is in the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries Wednesday evening after being run down by a vehicle that sped off near the intersection of White and Quimby roads in East San Jose, police said.
The adult male was struck while walking in the area of the large intersection around 5:45 p.m., according to San Jose police Officer Albert Morales. He was taken to the hospital, where his injuries "look life-threatening," he said.
The vehicle that struck the victim was described as a dark-colored van or SUV. It was last seen going south on White toward Sturla Drive, Morales said.
Morales said the vehicle likely has front-end damage.
