TORRANCE - A fire gutted a house in Torrance Friday, but no one was injured, a fire department official said.
The fire was reported at 4:23 p.m. in the 3700 block of Michelle Drive, said Steve Deuel of the Torrance Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived on the scene in less than five minutes and reported intense fire on both floors of the two-story home and said smoke and flames were visible from several blocks away, Deuel said.
"The wood shingle roof on the house was also mostly consumed in fire," Deuel said.
The sole occupant in the house got out unharmed, Deuel said.
Damage estimates were pending, Deuel said.
