SAN JOSE -- An elderly woman who died after a car crash Monday has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office as Marie Hauskins, 90, of San Jose.
Hauskins was at the wheel of a silver Toyota Camry that was involved in a collision with a brown Ford Crown Victoria driven by a 25-year-old San Jose man shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Hellyer Avenue and Silver Creek Valley Road in South San Jose.
Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Regional Medical Center, where Hauskins was pronounced dead, according to police.
San Jose police did not have an update on the case Wednesday evening. On Monday, they said an investigation into the cause of the crash was under way, and at that time they had not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
