LAFAYETTE -- A woman who worked at a massage parlor was arrested Friday after she attempted to solicit an undercover officer during a prostitution sting.

Lafayette police, along with the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office, conducted a joint undercover prostitution sting at the Gold Tub Massage establishment at 3486 Mount Diablo Blvd.

During the operation, an undercover officer was solicited by Xiu Bo Wang, 25, an employee of the business.

Wang, an Oakland resident, was arrested for solicitation to engage in prostitution. She was cited and released, police said.

During an inspection of the business, officers found numerous violations of the city's massage establishment ordinance. Gold Tub's certificate to operate in Lafayette was immediately revoked.

The operation was a result of a number of meetings that the city held last year with massage establishments and property owners regarding the implementation of a municipal code section that regulates the operation of massage parlors within the city.

Lafayette police said they will investigate allegations of illegal activity at other massage businesses.
