Two San Carlos residents who ran an illegal marijuana-growing operation in their home agreed in court Monday to reimburse Pacific Gas & Electric Co. $27,390 for stolen power, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office.

Alexis Morgan Bennight, 59, and John Scott Breisch, 53, were arrested Aug. 5, 2011, after police discovered an indoor pot farm inside their residence on the 1300 block of Elm Street and a separate growing operation in a warehouse on the 900 block of Terminal Way.

Police also arrested San Carlos resident Ryan Schofield, 34, in connection with the illegal warehouse operation.

Assistant District Attorney Al Serrato said Bennight and Breisch pirated electricity to their home to grow the pot plants.

On July 25, 2012, Bennight and Breisch were each sentenced to six months in jail after pleading no contest to a felony charge for operating the marijuana facilities, and Schofield to 120 days in jail after pleading no contest to one count of felony theft of utility services. All three were also given three years probation.
