CLAREMONT - Claremont Police are looking for people who believe they were victimized by thieves who took items from vehicles last month, according to a news release.

The police department received a call last month from a resident in the 400 block of Charleston Drive, in the area of Baseline Road and Mills Avenue, about three suspicious males possibly breaking into vehicles.

The call, at 3:45 a.m. Jan. 18, resulted in officers responding to Charleston and Ohio Drives and finding a man sitting in a van, which was later found to be an unreported stolen vehicle from the 600 block of E. Miramar Ave. with stolen property inside.

The man, who said he and two others entered numerous vehicles and stole miscellaneous items from them, was later arrested on suspicion of the theft.

He, according to the release, said the other two men involved were Hispanic males, one who is age 21 another who is age 35, who wore dark clothing. Claremont police officials said residents should lock their vehicles and remove all valuables from sight.

The investigation is ongoing and people who believe they were victims can contact the Claremont Police Department at 909-399-5411.
