One person is dead and another is in the hospital after gunshots rang out in San Jose Sunday night.
Police are investigating the possibility that the shooting was gang-related, according to a news release from the department.
About 9:12 p.m. Sunday, the city's 911 center received a report that gunshots had been heard and a person was hurt at the 1000 block of Audubon Drive, police reported.
Officers arriving on the scene found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead there about 9:27 p.m.
The other person was taken to a hospital with what police said are non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the killing was the city's 4th homicide of 2013.
No suspects have been identified and the motive in the shooting is under investigation.
Police said, however, that they are exploring the possibility that the shooting was gang-related.
Police did not release the name of either victim.
