Antioch

Angel Ears: Try your reading skills out by reading to a loving dog. The dog won't talk back and will listen attentively -- you can't ask for a better audience. Noon-1:30 p.m. March 9.

Nature Walk at Contra Loma Reservoir: East Bay Regional Park Ranger Bob will lead a 45-minute nature walk at Contra Loma Reservoir, 1200 Frederickson Lane. The walk will begin at the entrance to the Swim Lagoon (which is about a three-minute walk from the parking lot). $5 parking fee. Rain will cancels. Questions: 510-544-2750. 10 a.m. March 16.

Meet and Greet Greyhounds: Join others for a special story about a Greyhound and then meet and greet two wonderful Greyhounds. 3 p.m. March 20.

Infant/Toddler Storytime: Short board and picture book stores for infants, toddlers and preschoolers with parent or caregiver and child interaction. 10:30-10:50 a.m. Thursdays.

Preschool Bilingual story time with Martha and Darcel: Martha reads in Spanish, Darcel reads in English. Read books, sing songs, learn rhymes, dance, play. 4 p.m. March 14 and 28.

One Hundred Years of Space Exploration: Help celebrate 100 years of "bringing people and ideas together" with space exploration. Learn how our concept of "space" has changed over the past 100 years with experiments, craft activities and star gazing. An interactive experience for the entire family. 6:30-8 p.m. March 21.

Preschool Storytime: Stories for the whole family. We will read books, sing songs, learn rhymes, dance, play, and more. 4 p.m. March 7.

Stay and Play: After story time kids will play, put puzzles together, make crafts and just have fun. 4:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Free Play Friday: All of your most popular board games and card games are available for you to enjoy. Connect 4, Monopoly, Chess, Checkers, Uno, more. You name it, we might have it. 2:30-5:30 p.m. Fridays.

Homework Help: Homework help is available for children grades K-12. 3-6:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Brentwood

Introduction to OverDrive: Learn about using popular e-readers (Nook, Kindle, iPad, etc.) to access the library's digital collection. 10 a.m. March 11. Register at ccclib.org.

Way Back Wednesdays: Youths ages 12 and older can register to help out at this children's event and earn volunteer hours! Meet at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak St. 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 13.

Teen Advisory Group: Join this teen club to help out with library programs and earn volunteer hours. The TAG meets 3:30-5 p.m. March 27.

"Chill Out With a Book" Winter Reading Program: A self-paced reading program for school-age kids and teens. Read and review three books and turn in your reading log to earn prizes, including a free book and Mountain Mike's pizza.

Pajama Storytime: A story time for children 5 and younger. Fuzzy slippers are encouraged. 7 p.m. Mondays.

Lapsit Baby Storytime: A story time for infants. 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Toddler Time: Stories and finger plays for toddlers. 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Oakley

Computer Tutor: Sign up for a 30-minute, one-on-one session with our tutor and brush up on basic computer skills such as setting up an email account, searching the Internet, and using Microsoft Office. 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays ongoing. Call the library to make an appointment.

Read to a Dog: Children 6-13 can improve reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a dog from H.A.L.O. Angel Ears Therapy Dogs. Sign up for a 10-15 minute session. Walk-ins as space permits. 10:30-11:45 a.m. March 16.

Adult Beading Program: Local beading experts will teach you how to create simple projects with beads. Registration required at ccc.lib. 6-8 p.m. March 20.

Oakley Library Youth Squad: Teens in grades 8-12 who love to read and want to help their community, are invited to join the Oakley Library Youth Squad. Earn community service hours while planning fun. 3:30 p.m. March 21.

Toddler Storytime: Come join other for stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities for toddlers. 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays.

Infant Storytime: Short books, songs, rhymes, and bounces for babies up to 24-months-old. 11 a.m. Wednesdays.

Family Storytime: The whole family is invited to come have fun listening to books, singing songs and making a craft. 6:30 p.m. Thursdays.
