Pleasant Hill residents Barbara Profe, left, and Laura Nelson joined the Martinez Senior Center group for a summer trip to South Dakota, which included spending the Fourth of July at Mount Rushmore. The group also visited the Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary, took a loop around the Badlands National Park, and visited Tatanka: Story of the Bison, showing a larger-than-life sculpture of a buffalo jump. At the Crazy Horse Memorial, the world's largest sculpture in progress, they caught up with the community news in the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record.
It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across San Francisco Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Record to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
