WALNUT CREEK -- A man wanted for multiple burglaries and battery is behind bars on $450,000 bail after turning himself into police Monday night.
Christopher Roberts, 26, whose last known residence was in Oakley, turned himself into police without incident shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, Walnut Creek police said.
Roberts, who had a warrant for his arrest, was wanted on multiple charges including battery on a person, annoying phone calls, vehicle theft and multiple residential burglaries.
Walnut Creek police transferred him to the county jail in Martinez, where he is being held in lieu of $450,000 bail.
Roberts had been advertised as a "wanted" suspect on the Walnut Creek Police Department's Facebook page since Sunday.
