A Berkeley couple is facing several weapons charges after an incident in April, when a gun was fired at the walls of a neighbor's apartment, police said.
Jeremy Adrian and his girlfriend, Masayo Shinohara, were arrested April 30, after police were called about 11:36 p.m. to the 1700 block of Highland Place, Berkeley police Officer Jennifer Coats said. A resident reported hearing a gunshot and discovered a bullet hole in their wall and other damaged property, prompting the police call, Coats said. Information wasn't available on why the shot was fired.
Police investigating the scene discovered a bag containing an illegal firearm, as well as fake identifications and access cards, Coats said.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office charged Adrian and Shinohara with felonies for firing a gun in an occupied dwelling; possession of an assault weapon, possession of a short-barreled firearm and silencer, possession of fraudulent identification and possession of somebody else's personal identification number, police said.
