Want to listen to the possible stars of tomorrow while you're at this year's Monterey Jazz Festival?

Then make sure to catch the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra while at the festival, which runs Sept. 20-22 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. The NGJO will perform on the big arena stage -- alongside world-class saxophonist Joe Lovano, the festival's 2013 artist-in-residence -- on Sept. 22.

The orchestra features some of the top high school players from around the country. Included in the mix are three Northern California products -- Howard Dietz (alto saxophone; Valley Christian High School, San Jose), Elena Pinderhughes (flute; Berkeley High School) and Andrew Stephens (trumpet; Rio Americano High School, Sacramento).
