The visiting Vikings exploded for 16 points in the second quarter to blow open a close game and win their opener.
The Vikings led 6-3 at the end of the first quarter on a run by Jared Lozoya. But Lozoya capped Irvington's first-half scoring with a 92-yard touchdown reception on a screen pass from Jack Shank. A two-point conversion pass from Shank to Andre Vickers gave Irvington a 22-3 halftime lead.
Besides Lozoya's two touchdowns, Shank ran for two touchdowns and threw for two scores. The Irvington defense also stopped the Warriors multiple times inside the 10.
