El Cerrito police log: Several arrests result in finds of methamphetamine; trio arrested for trying to take clothing from Marshall's

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16 ROBBERY -- At 9:44 p.m., two men armed with a handgun robbed someone in the 500 block of Richmond Street. SHOPLIFTING -- A Richmond man, 32, was arrested for stealing electronics at CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave.
THURSDAY, OCT. 17 LICENSE -- Police arrested a Richmond male cyclist, 49, near Potrero Avenue and South 56th Street. The man was on probation and in possession of someone else's driver's license. POSSESSION -- A male driver, 42, and a male passenger, 14, jumped out of a vehicle with its engine running in the 1500 block of Elm Street, after their car was spotted in the driveway of a home for sale. The pair was detained and then police discovered the motorist had a suspended license and was in possession of methamphetamine. They had been seen earlier prowling a neighbor's yard, according to a caller.
FRIDAY, OCT. 18 WEAPON -- A Richmond man, 21, was arrested for wielding nun chucks and attempting to strike a patron in the 5900 block of Cutting Boulevard.
SATURDAY, OCT. 19 DUI -- Police arrested a Richmond man, 24, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at El Dorado Street and Yolo Avenue. POSSESSION -- A Richmond female motorist, 40, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine near Plumas and San Pablo avenues.
SUNDAY, OCT. 20 DUI -- Police arrested an El Cerrito man, 48, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at San Pablo and Waldo avenues. RECOVERED AUTO -- At School Avenue and South 53rd Street, police recovered a 1995 Nissan Quest reported stolen in Richmond.
MONDAY, OCT. 21 ILLEGAL ITEMS -- A Richmond male pedestrian, 30, was arrested near Conlon and San Pablo avenues for possession of shaved keys, a screwdriver, a walkie-talkie, a window punch, and a suspected pipe for smoking methamphetamine. POSSESSION -- Police arrested a Richmond male felon, 45, for an outstanding warrant and possession of methamphetamine and pepper spray at Moeser Lane and San Pablo Avenue. SHOPLIFTING -- Three Richmond residents, including two men, 19 and 20, and a woman, 18, were cited for stealing clothing at Marshall's, 10700 San Pablo Ave. STOLEN AUTO -- Someone stole a 1995 Honda Accord in the 3000 block of Yosemite Avenue. A car of the same year and model, reported stolen in Oakland, was recovered at that location during the investigation. THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- Someone stole an estimated $5,000 worth of electronic equipment after entering an unlocked home in the 200 block of Pomona Avenue. VEHICLE VANDAL -- Two people were seen tampering with a vehicle in the lot of an apartment complex in the 11700 block of San Pablo Avenue, forcing open a door before fleeing the area. Nothing was reported stolen.
TUESDAY, OCT. 22 DUI -- Two motorists were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol: A Walnut Creek man, 27, at Central and San Pablo avenues, and a San Pablo man, 30, after police spotted his vehicle stopped in the roadway in the 1700 block of Eastshore Boulevard.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23 THEFT -- An El Cerrito man, 36, with prior convictions, was arrested after police saw him near Central Avenue and Interstate 80, wearing a backpack he had been caught stealing from a boutique in the 6900 block of Stockton Avenue several hours prior. THEFT FROM AUTO -- Someone broke into a 2009 GMC van in the 600 block of Liberty Street and stole more than $6,000 worth of electronic equipment.
THURSDAY, OCT. 24 DUI -- Police arrested a Richmond man, 23, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol near Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue.
