Lights of honor

Benjamin Sioni, 12, at left, gazes at a candle lighted in remembrance of his father Joseph at the Hospice of the East Bay tree lighting ceremony in downtown Walnut Creek on Sunday. This year's post-lighting ceremony was dedicated to Joseph Sioni, Benjamin's father. Similar tree-lighting ceremonies are scheduled in many East Bay cities to honor the lives of their friends and loved ones who have been touched by cancer. Below, The Murwood Elementary School Chorus sings at the Hospice of the East Bay tree lighting ceremony.
