El Cerrito police log: Electronics stolen from car during driver's short absence; business robbed after employee is confronted outside

FRIDAY, DEC. 13 DUI -- Police arrested a San Francisco male motorist, 44, at 1:33 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at Moeser Lane and San Pablo Avenue. An Oakland man, 26, was arrested at 2:58 a.m. for driving under the influence, providing a false name and possession of a suspected burglary tool at Madison and San Pablo avenues. And, at 10:36 p.m., police arrested a Richmond man, 26, for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and possession of marijuana following a traffic enforcement stop at Brighton and San Pablo avenues. ROBBERY -- Just before 8:59 p.m., a man confronted an employee near a trash bin and ordered him back into a business in the 11100 block of San Pablo Avenue. He then robbed the store of cash and fled the area. STOLEN AUTO -- Someone stole a gray 1991 Nissan Pathfinder from a driveway in the 6600 block of Gatto Avenue. Police recovered a 1997 Nissan Maxima in the 9900 block of San Pablo Avenue that had been reported stolen in San Francisco. THEFT FROM AUTO -- Someone broke a front window of a silver Toyota 4Runner that was in the 5600 block of San Diego Street while its owner was on a 10-minute errand and stole a laptop.
SATURDAY, DEC. 14 DUI -- Five motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol: A Vallejo man, 55, at 12:11 a.m. at Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue; a San Pablo man, 29, who had an outstanding DUI warrant and was driving with a suspended license resulting from a prior DUI incident, at 1:38 a.m. at Potrero and San Pablo avenues; a Pinole woman, 42, at 2:09 a.m. at Butte Street and Carlson Boulevard; a Folsom man, 24, at 3:23 a.m. at Cutting Boulevard and Highway 80; and an El Cerrito woman, 41, at 4:21 a.m. at Knott and San Pablo avenues.
SUNDAY, DEC. 15 DUI -- Two motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A Richmond man, 33, was arrested at 12:54 a.m. at Central Avenue and Joaquin Street and a Rodeo man, 31, at 10:29 p.m. at San Pablo Avenue and Schmidt Lane. THEFT -- Police arrested a Berkeley male transient, 50, with an outstanding warrant, on suspicion of stealing merchandise from four stores in El Cerrito Plaza. A San Francisco man, 54, was arrested at 4:32 p.m. on suspicion of stealing items from Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Avenue. THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- Someone entered an open bedroom window at a home in the 7100 block of Central Avenue and stole electronics.
