• DRUGS -- At 11:59 a.m., a 58-year-old Richmond man who was driving with a suspended license, was arrested for possession of a sufficient quantity of cocaine to suspect it was for sale, and possession of marijuana near Highland Avenue and South 56th Street.

  • DUI -- At 2:48 a.m., a San Pablo woman, 25, who was on probation for a prior DUI incident and was driving with a suspended license, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at Carlson Boulevard and Central Avenue.

  • POSSESSION -- At 1:29 p.m., police arrested a Richmond male parolee, 29, along the BART path at Stockton Avenue for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A Berkeley man, 35, was cited and released after police discovered he was in possession of property that was not his own and had initially lied about his identity.


  • ATTEMPTED BURGLARY -- Someone forced open the front door of a home in the 7500 block of Potrero Avenue and tried to steal a wall-mounted television.

  • POSSESSION -- At 7:18 p.m., a Richmond man, 32, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe following a traffic enforcement stop in the 11500 block of San Pablo Avenue.

  • WEAPON -- At 7:39 p.m. police arrested an Oakland female motorist and felon, 23, for unlawful possession of a loaded and concealed semi-automatic handgun and driving with a suspended license near Central Avenue and Interstate 80.

  • THEFT -- At 11:22 p.m., a Watsonville man, 40, with an outstanding warrant was arrested in the parking lot of Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave., after a manager flagged down an officer and reported the man had stolen store merchandise.


  • WARRANT -- At 6:44 p.m., police arrested an El Cerrito man, 57, for an outstanding warrant following a pedestrian stop in the 2600 block of Carquinez Avenue.

    FRIDAY, JAN. 10

  • THEFT -- Someone reported the theft of a license plate off a Dodge Charger in the Marshall's parking lot. Around 6:35 p.m., police arrested a Richmond woman, 27, with outstanding warrants after loss prevention personnel saw her stealing items at Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Avenue.

  • VANDALISM -- At 9:27 p.m., a man reportedly damaged the sushi display at Safeway and then fled.


  • ACCIDENT -- At 11:58 a.m., police responded to a call about an injury accident involving a vehicle striking a woman who was walking in the crosswalk at San Pablo and Wall avenues while pushing her bicycle. The vehicle struck the bike's rear tire, knocking down the pedestrian and injuring her ankle.

  • ASSAULT -- An Oakland woman, 32, was arrested for resisting arrest after she refused to sign a citation for jaywalking at Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue. She then struggled with the officer, pushing him and striking him on his arms and chest.

  • WARRANT -- At 9:51 p.m., a Berkeley male passenger, 37, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance after a traffic enforcement stop at Moeser Lane and San Pablo Avenue.

    SUNDAY, JAN. 12

  • BATTERY -- At 11:57 a.m., police arrested an El Sobrante male parolee, 23, after he refused to exit his vehicle following a traffic stop near Moeser Lane and San Pablo Avenue. The suspect then started fighting, biting and scratching the officer.

  • BURGLARY -- Someone smashed a window and stole a GPS device from a vehicle in the 300 block of Carmel Avenue.

  • DUI -- A Berkeley man, 27, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled him over for a vehicle code violation at 1:03 a.m. at San Pablo and Waldo avenues. A Richmond motorist, 27, who was driving on a flat tire near Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol.

  • FRAUD -- At 1:22 p.m., a Richmond man was arrested after he was caught reportedly using a skimming device to collect credit card information at a restaurant in the 6100 block of Potrero Avenue.

  • THEFT -- A Richmond man, 27, was arrested for shoplifting after he was spotted stealing personal hygiene products and concealing them in his clothing at around 7:39 p.m. at Safeway.
