CROCKETT -- The John Swett school district will hold a meeting Tuesday evening to discuss whether Crockett and Rodeo residents would like to see Carquinez Middle School renovated or replaced because of concerns about its safety in an earthquake.

An engineering report released in October determined that the school, which was built in the 1920s, could be a hazard in the event of a major quake.

District trustees must make a decision about repair or replacement of the school by the end of March in order to place a bond measure on the November ballot.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium of the middle school at 1099 Pomona St.
