CONCORD -- A bicyclist was struck and injured by a car on Monday afternoon in Concord, a fire spokesman said.

Fire crews were dispatched at 1:46 p.m. to the intersection of Oak Grove Road and Apple Drive near Monument Boulevard for a report of a car hitting a person on a bike, said Contra Costa Fire Capt. Robert Marshall.

The bicyclist was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek to be treated for unknown injuries.
