THE STAT LINE: Knatt pinned all four of his opponents at the Kermit Bankson Wrestling Invitational en route to the 162-pound championship. He earned one of the tournament's two Most Valuable Wrestler awards. He has a 23-5 record this year.

Oscar Frayer

SCHOOL: Moreau Catholic

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Wing

THE STAT LINE: The 6-foot-6 Frayer filled stat sheets in two Mission Valley Athletic League victories last week. He had 23 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, three assists and three steals in a 75-65 win over James Logan. Frayer then had 28 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a 57-51 win over Washington.

Mikayla Cowling

SCHOOL: St. Mary's

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Forward

THE STAT LINE: Cowling scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 78-71 victory over Carondelet. The performance capped a productive week. She also produced 18 points, six rebounds and seven assists in an 84-26 win over Pinole Valley; a team-high 20 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, and seven rebounds in a 64-63 loss to Salesian; and a team-high 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 58-55 loss to Windward-Los Angeles.

Maranne Johnson

SCHOOL: Deer Valley

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Two big outings from Johnson helped the Wolverines push their winning streak to six games. In a 68-58 win over Pittsburg, she had 25 points, five steals and five rebounds. Then she poured in a season-high 27 points in a 68-51 victory over Sheldon-Sacramento.

BOYS

DON AUGUSTINE, Encinal, basketball, Jr. -- Augustine scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a 69-59 victory over Piedmont. The forward also had 22 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 71-51 victory over Arroyo.

ESTEBAN BERUMEN, Pittsburg, soccer, Sr. -- The forward had two hat tricks during a 3-0-0 week for the Pirates. His first three goals came in a 5-1 win over Heritage. He then scored three more in a 4-0 nonleague win over Newark Memorial.

GIRLS

KIAN MCNAIR, Salesian, basketball, Jr. -- The guard scored 12 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws with nine seconds left for the eventual winning points, in a 64-63 victory over St. Mary's.

DANA OUTCALT, Monte Vista, soccer, Sr. -- The center back had a strong game as the Mustangs remained unbeaten with a scoreless draw against San Ramon Valley in the East Bay Athletic League. She also had an assist in a 3-1 win over Granada.
