SAN RAMON -- Will the city of San Ramon bring its July 4 fireworks back?
This pros and cons of reviving the popular annual display will be discussed at the San Ramon Parks and Community Services Commission's second public meeting on the topic on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. at Dougherty Station Community Center at 17011 Bollinger Canyon Road.
Budget cuts forced the city to nix the annual display for the past two years, but the City Council has been considering a long-range plan for reviving the popular annual attraction. And it is considering Old Ranch Park at 1000 Vista Monte Drive as a possible location for future displays, as well as potential future funding sources.
The city also mailed meeting notices to about 1,500 residents within a half-mile radius of the park, who would be most affected by the change in location, including those in the Summit View, Bent Creek and Old Ranch Estate subdivisions.
