Two shot in grocery store before storm
Two women were shot Monday inside an Atlanta supermarket that was busy with customers trying to stock up before a winter storm that's widely predicted to hit the area, police said.
Lawrenceville police Capt. Greg Vaughn told local news outlets the shooting happened at a Kroger and that two people of interest have been taken into custody. Vaughn said the shooting came after some sort of fight or argument but didn't have details.
Vaughn said the women have been hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. He said one woman was shot in her leg and the other was shot in her torso.
More bridge closure subpoenas prepared
At least a dozen new subpoenas were authorized Monday by a New Jersey legislative committee investigating a plot by aides to Gov. Chris Christie to create traffic gridlock on the George Washington Bridge, apparently for political retribution.
The panel also agreed to take steps to enforce subpoenas to two key figures in the bridge scandal that is engulfing the administration of the Republican governor and possible 2016 presidential candidate.
Former Christie campaign manager Bill Stepien and fired deputy chief of staff Bridget Kelly have asserted their right against self-incrimination and refused to comply with the subpoenas.
