In the weekly feature called "e-views," we invite readers to answer a question via email or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BrentwoodNews.
Last week's question:
Are you noticing any more illegal dumping in your community? Where and how does your community deal with it?
I HAVE noticed a pretty consistent dump site at the north end of Slatten Ranch Road. It is a dead end cul-de-sac and often littered with mattresses, furniture, etc.
I am fairly successful in reporting it to Antioch Code Enforcement at 925-779-7042.
If it is in our neighborhood, our Neighborhood Watch Group stays on top of it.
This week's question:
A recent survey revealed that not enough voters in the East Contra Costa Fire District would support a parcel tax of about $98 for approximately five years that would allow the district to keep all current stations open. Should the ECC Fire District wait and try again during the November election? Should it try to merge with another district or should cities take care of their own fire protection?
