During its grand opening on Feb. 6, the new Black Angus Steakhouse in Brentwood raised $1,342 for the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano.

This was 10 percent of its total sales on opening night, according to Black Angus representatives.

"We'd like to thank the Brentwood community for a very warm welcome and for coming out to support our grand opening as well as the Food Bank of Contra Costa," said Brentwood Black Angus' General Manager Jon Bowler. "This partnership is the first of many as we are committed to supporting organizations that enrich and improve Brentwood and surrounding areas."

According to the food bank's Executive Director Larry Sly, this generous donation will provide about 2,684 meals to those in need locally. The Brentwood restaurant will continue to partner with community organizations for other philanthropic efforts.
