HAYWARD -- A man fatally stabbed over the weekend in a downtown parking lot was identified by police on Tuesday as Jayson Dutt, of Hayward.
Dutt, 24, was killed early Saturday morning in a city-owned lot behind Buffalo Bill's Brew Pub at 1082 B St. near Foothill Blvd., police said. Officers called to the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m. found Dutt stabbed; he died at the scene.
Police have arrested two Hayward brothers and another Hayward man on suspicion of murder in connection with Dutt's death.
Daniel Ramirez, 29, his brother Robert Ramirez, 27, and Jose Vasquez, 19, also of Hayward, are due to be arraigned Wednesday, Sgt. Ken Forkus said.
Investigators believe that Dutt drove a car into the parking lot where he had been eating fast food before he came into contact with the Ramirez brothers and Vasquez, who had visited several area bars.
An argument erupted, police said, and the men allegedly attacked Dutt before getting into a car and speeding off.
Several minutes later, dispatchers received a report of a single-vehicle crash on A Street at South Garden Avenue, about two miles from the city parking lot. There, officers found an abandoned Mercedes-Benz.
A short time later, two of the suspects showed up to a hospital with stab wounds, police said. Police believe the men had been in the Mercedes that crashed and that they flagged down another motorist to take them to the hospital.
The men, along with the third suspect, were later arrested and booked into jail where they were being held without bail on Tuesday.
The case remains under investigation.
