Azul Court, 7 a.m. Tuesday A woman who knocked on the rear door of a residence was in the backyard, sitting on a ladder with a cup of coffee, when police arrived. The trespasser, a 29-year-old Milpitas resident, was subsequently cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. The homeowner declined prosecution.

49000 block of Tomahawk Place, Tuesday A residence was burglarized by someone who pried open a rear slider. Missing items included jewelry, electronics and cash.

Bounty Drive, 8:11-8:31 a.m. Monday Someone tried to break into an apartment through a bedroom window.

Beach Park Boulevard, 3:17 p.m. Monday A resident who gave a credit-card number to a caller claiming to be with PG&E found out afterward that the call was a scam.

Cutwater Lane, 4:06 p.m. Tuesday A male's vehicle was keyed for the third time in six weeks. Estimated damage was $2,500.
