"Thrown for a Loss: The Story of the 1963 Pittsburg Mallards" is among the films that will be shown at the Oakland International Film Festival in April.
The 49-minute documentary, which tells the story of the team that was supposed to have a pre-championship game breakfast with President John F. Kennedy but instead attended his funeral after he was assassinated, premiered last year at the California Theatre in Pittsburg.
It is among a group of six films that will be shown April 4 from 3 p.m to 5:30 p.m. at the Bal Theatre in San Leandro, 14808 E. 14th St.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at http://www.oaklandinternationalfilmfestival.com/day-2/.
