FRIDAY, MARCH 7

  • HIT AND RUN -- Shortly after 3:45 p.m., police arrested an Oakland man, 17, after he was seen driving at speeds up to 90 miles per hour. A short pursuit ended when his vehicle collided into a center median, spun out and stopped at westbound Interstate 80 and Central Avenue. The driver fled on foot, but police caught up with him exiting a store in the 600 block of Cleveland Avenue.

  • POSSESSION -- At 12:30 a.m., a Richmond man, 20, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance near Potrero Avenue and South 49th Street. He told police the crystalline drug was melted down Vicodin.

    SATURDAY, MARCH 8

  • ARREST -- Police arrested an Oakland man, 24, just after 6:10 a.m. for breaking into a vehicle in the 5600 block of Jordan Avenue. The victim's husband had been chasing after the suspect on Ludwig Avenue and flagged down police near Macdonald and San Pablo avenues. The suspect was apprehended when officers found him hiding behind a shed alongside Home Depot.

  • DUI -- At 1:22 a.m., police arrested an El Cerrito woman for driving under the influence of alcohol at Carlson Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue.

  • LICENSE -- At 2:45 a.m., an Antioch man, 23, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol near Cutting Boulevard and Peerless Avenue.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- Someone shattered a window of a vehicle in the 600 block of Alvarado Place and stole $3. A Fasttrak device was stolen from the glove compartment of an unlocked vehicle in the 7000 block of Cutting Boulevard.

  • VEHICLE VANDAL -- Someone shattered the front passenger window of a vehicle in the 2500 block of Tamalpais Avenue, but nothing was stolen.
