SAN JOSE -- A 26-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a shooting inside a South San Jose home Monday night, and police remain tight-lipped on whether marijuana found there fueled the violent episode.

Tony Thanh Nhan Nguyen died around 9:30 p.m. at a home in the 5100 block of Eppling Lane, in the city's Coyote Creek neighborhood, according to the San Jose Police Department. He had suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Investigators did not reveal additional information about the death, which marked the city's ninth homicide of the year. Another homicide, the second in as many days, was reported downtown early Wednesday.

Police did not confirm media reports suggesting marijuana found inside may have been a factor in the shooting. Neither suspects nor a motive have been announced in the case.
