RICHMOND -- Some West Contra Costa school district homeowners may be eligible to apply for exemptions from the Measure D parcel tax before June 30.
Homeowners living in the district who will be 65 by June 30 or who receive Supplemental Security Income, or SSI, are can apply for exemptions from the tax if they own and occupy their property as their primary residence. Exemptions will be automatically renewed for those who received senior exemptions in 2012-13, still own their homes and live at the same address. Those who sold their homes and purchased new homes must refile for the exemption for the new property.
