MARTINEZ -- A plan to create a sustainable garden on Central Contra Costa Sanitary District land could get the green light Thursday.
The district board is scheduled to vote on a proposal to lease about 15 acres of unused property for $1 a year to a group that wants to plant fruits and vegetables on the site to provide food to schools and the local food bank, along with education programs. The proposed lease is up to 10 years.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. in the district board room at 5509 Imhoff Dr., Martinez.
