ANTIOCH -- Police released a surveillance video Tuesday afternoon in hopes of finding suspects in a recent overnight vandalism spree throughout the city.

As many of 33 acts of vandalism were reported to police throughout the day Friday at and around homes in the Mira Vista Hills, Black Diamond Estates and Diamond Ridge subdivisions, police said.

Police said suspects traveled through the various neighborhoods and threw "river rocks" through the glass of vehicles and homes.

"There are a lot of people in this community that are very emotional about it and want to hold these guys accountable," Chief Allan Cantando said Tuesday. "We know somebody saw or heard something

Cantando said police are still in the early stages of investigation, and hopes maybe more residents have videos or saw or heard something that could break the case.

Antioch has had flurries of overnight vandalism in years past, but "it hasn't been to this volume," Cantando said.

"There are other issues (police) are trying to focus on, we don't need this kind of foolishness," he said.
