In her centenary year, celebrated French author Marguerite Duras (who died in 1996 at the age of 82) is being honored at Stanford University as the subject of the latest "Another Look" event, a unique and public book club that writers and scholars from the university's English department put on with other leading experts from the Bay Area and beyond. Duras' 1984 novel "The Lover" will be the topic under discussion. Participants are Stanford English professor Blakey Vermeule and associate professor Paula Moya, and Stephen Seligman, a psychologist at UC San Francisco. The free event is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Levinthal Hall, 424 Santa Teresa St.
