PLEASANTON -- Kyle Franco threw a six-inning no-hitter for the sixth-seeded Foothill High baseball team, which topped No. 14 San Leandro 10-0 on Saturday to advance to the North Coast Section Division I semifinals.
Franco hit one batter, allowed just one walk and finished with five strikeouts to lead Foothill (15-11), which will play at No. 2 De La Salle in Wednesday's semifinals. Falcons coach Angelo Scavone said it's the first playoff no-hitter he's seen in the 20 years he's been with the program.
Franco also went 3 for 4 in the win, as the Falcons finished with 11 hits and scored at least one run in every inning except the fifth.
Ryan Anderson went 3 for 3 with four runs and an RBI, and Max Sanderson was 2 for 4 with a run.
San Leandro's ends its season, which included a West Alameda County Conference-Shoreline Division title and a first round win over defending section champion Amador Valley, with a 21-7 record.
