PINOLE -- There is still time to enter your prize ride in the 23rd annual Cruisin' in the Sun Classic Car Show, taking place 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 22 on San Pablo Avenue and Fernandez Park in Old Town. But hurry, because the event is limited to the first 325 entries of 1975 and older American-made cars that will compete for trophies and awards.
The city's largest event of the year is hosted by the Northern California Cruisers Classic Car Club and attracts entries from around Northern California, which means there will be lots of vintage Detroit iron to admire. San Pablo Avenue in Old Town between Tennent Avenue and Pinole Valley Road will be closed to traffic for the day.
Along with the cars, there will be classic live music by the Dave Crimmen Band on the avenue and classic oldies-but-goodies spun by DJ Vince Pistello in the park, along with arts and crafts vendors, food at Old Town restaurants, a raffle, community booths and more.
A pancake breakfast at the Pinole Senior Center, 2500 Charles Ave., kicks off the day.
