RICHMOND -- The birthday of the Dalai Lama is being celebrated by the Richmond-based Tibetan Association of Northern California with a pair of events this weekend that are open to the community.
A "fun night" celebration in honor of the Tibetan Buddhist leader will be held from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. July 5 at Kennedy High School, 4300 Cutting Blvd. in Richmond, that will include dinner, performances, songs and dance. Admission is $20 TANC members, $25 nonmembers; free for seniors.
On July 6, all are invited to attend a vegetarian potluck that will start at 10 a.m. and go on all day at Cesar Chavez Park at the Berkeley Marina.
