LIVERMORE -- An 18-year-old man was injured after he jumped into shallow water at a quarry lake on July 10.

The young man was swimming with friends at a quarry lake off of Vallecitos Road when he jumped off a 30-foot outcropping into the water, according to a dispatcher for the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

He overestimated the depth of the water and was injured, although the extent of his injuries were not immediately clear.
