OAKLAND -- Two men were shot, one during an attempted robbery, within a six-hour period Thursday night and early Friday, police said.
Both were expected to recover.
At 12:01 a.m. Friday a 31-year-old man walking in the area of 18th and West streets in West Oakland was confronted by two men, one armed with a gun, who demanded his valuables, police said.
Instead, the man began running away and was shot more than once in the arm, police said. He found his own transportation to a hospital and was in stable condition. The suspects fled on foot.
At 5:49 p.m. Thursday a 21-year-old man got into an argument with some people inside his car in the 101000 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland and was shot in the back by one of them, police said,
The suspects fled and the man was taken to a hospital where he was in stable condition.
It was not immediately known what the argument was about.
