OAKLAND -- An elderly East Palo Alto man with dementia who went missing this week was found Thursday morning on a bus in Oakland, police said.
Alameda County Sheriff's Office deputies found Henry James Scott, who is in his 70s, safe and sound on the bus about 8 a.m. Thursday, a Palo Alto police spokesman said.
Scott, who has high blood pressure and dementia, walked away from Stanford Hospital after receiving discharge papers on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Palo Alto police sought assistance from the public in finding him.
Officers said that Scott had been known to frequent public buses in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
