EL CERRITO -- The city has announced temporary road closures for resurfacing work on portions of Colusa and Santa Fe avenues that start July 29 and are scheduled to be completed on Aug. 1. Sections of the roads will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and detours will be in place.
Signs announcing no on-street parking in the area were put up over the weekend. The work area is Colusa Avenue from Fairmount Avenue to the south city limits, and Santa Fe Avenue from Colusa Avenue to the south city limits.
No parking will be allowed between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the roadway segment where work is underway and access to the residential driveways will be restricted.
The work is being done in conjunction with a resurfacing project scheduled in Kensington near its border with El Cerrito around Colusa.
