BRENTWOOD -- The nomination period for the upcoming Brentwood City Council election will continue through Aug. 8. Two council seats, which are both four-year terms, are open.

As of Friday morning, nomination papers have been pulled by incumbents Brentwood Vice Mayor Joel Bryant and Council member Steve Barr and newcomer Jamie Tobin. Barr is the only one of the three who has filed his nomination packet.

Nomination packets are available in the Brentwood city clerk's office at City Hall, 150 City Park Way. Registered voters who live in Brentwood may file nomination petitions by the deadline of 5 p.m. on Aug. 8.

There is no fee for the nomination packets. Candidates may file an optional candidate statement of up to 200 words, and it will be published in the election materials for a deposit of $387.50.
