  • RECOVERED VEHICLE -- A red 1993 Honda Civic stolen in Walnut Creek was located in the 1700 block of Lexington Avenue at 1:30 p.m.

  • COMMERCIAL BURGLARY -- Someone shattered the front glass door of a business in the 10700 block of San Pablo Avenue overnight and stole about $10 from the cash register.

  • COMMERCIAL BURGLARY -- Someone shattered the front glass door of a business in the 10100 block of San Pablo Avenue overnight and stole about $20 from the cash register.

  • STRUCTURE FIRE -- A fire in a carport in the 900 block of Seaview Drive at 11 a.m. was extinguished by El Cerrito and Richmond fire crews.

  • PETTY THEFT -- Safeway workers detained a 45-year-old Pittsburg man and a 34-year-old Richmond woman at 3 p.m. for stealing groceries. During booking it was found they both had several convictions for petty theft and they were taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

  • RESISTING ARREST -- An unwanted person was reported at a business at 9895 San Pablo Ave. at 8:40 a.m. The 24-year-old Oakland man fled into El Cerrito Plaza while officers were speaking with him, but was apprehended.

  • RECOVERED VEHICLE -- A 1991 Nissan pickup reported stolen in Richmond was located at 6:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Junction Ave.

  • WARRANT -- A 61-year-old transient man was arrested a for an outstanding warrant during a 10 p.m. pedestrian stop on the BART path at Central Avenue.

  • INTOXICATION -- A 46-year-old Oklahoma man was arrested for public intoxication at 4 a.m. at Hill and Liberty streets.

    Monday, July 28

  • Missing Person -- An 81-year-old man suffering from Alzheimer's disease was reported missing from the 2600 Block of Sonoma Avenue at 8:30 a.m. Video from a neighbor's surveillance system showed him walking away from his house at 6:30 a.m. Area law enforcement agencies and medical facilities were notified and he was found safe at 11:30 a.m. in a nearby city.

  • RECOVERED VEHICLE -- At 8:30 a.m. an officer investigating a suspicious vehicle report in the 700 Block of Richmond Street found a 1996 Honda Accord with its engine running but no key in the ignition. A check revealed it had been stolen overnight from the 6000 block of El Dorado Street.

  • Stolen Vehicle -- A black 1998 Infiniti I30 was reported stolen in the 700 Block of Richmond Street.

  • RECOVERED VEHICLE -- A 1982 Toyota Corolla reported stolen to BART police July 27 was located in the 6700 block of Willow Street.

    Tuesday, July 29

  • RESISTING OFFICER -- A man was reported acting belligerent and yelling at employees at Denny's at 6 a.m. Officers tried to talk to the 52-year-old transient, who first walked away from them, then "took a fighting stance by clenching his fist." He was arrested after a brief struggle.

  • WARRANT -- Employees at the Lucky store at El Cerrito Plaza reported a possible theft in progress at 11:15 p.m. The officer found the subject, an Oakland man, 30, had an outstanding warrant and he was booked and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

  • PURSUIT -- A that vehicle fled an attempted traffic stop at midnight at Interstate 80 and Potrero Avenue exited the freeway at Carlson Boulevard, then re-entered the freeway in the eastbound direction. The car was reported exceeding 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic and the pursuit was ended for safety concerns. An officer conducting follow-up at I-80 and Macdonald Avenue saw a vehicle traveling more than 100 mph and made a traffic stop. The driver, a 23-year-old Richmond woman, had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. She was taken to the hospital for medical reasons.

  • POSSESSION -- A 21-year-old transient male on a bicycle was stopped by an officer in the 900 block of Liberty Street at 4 a.m. and arrested for suspected methamphetamine possession.

    Wednesday July 30

  • STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 2000 Ford 250 utility truck was reported stolen in the 7500 block of Schmidt Lane.

  • PETTY THEFT -- A 27-year-old Jackson woman was arrested at 3 p.m. for leaving Safeway with merchandise.

  • RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY -- Someone forced open the door of an unoccupied dwelling in the 10100 block of San Pablo Avenue and took property.

  • DUI -- A 24-year-old Richmond woman was arrested at 1 a.m. at Cutting Boulevard and Peerless Avenue at 1 a.m. for driving while under the influence.

    Thursday, July 31

  • CREDIT CARD FRAUD -- Two women were reported trying to purchase gift cards with a fraudulent credit card at 4 p.m. at a business at 11565 San Pablo Ave. The pair fled in a white Honda Accord with no license plates.

  • RESISTING ARREST -- An officer pursued a man who had just run out the rear emergency door of a restaurant in the 11400 block of San Pablo Ave. at 6:40 p.m. The man ran into a nearby restaurant and jumped over the front counter. The 35-year-old Oakley resident, wanted on an attempted homicide warrant and a gang member in possession of a firearm warrant from Contra Costa County Superior Court, was arrested.

  • DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- A 31-year-old El Cerrito man reported to be possibly intoxicated and urinating in public at 8 p.m. at Central and Santa Clara avenues was arrested.
