CONCORD -- The Mt. Diablo school district is collecting supplies and gift card contributions to purchase back-to-school clothes and hygiene products for foster youth and homeless students in grades K-12.
Backpacks and school supplies can be dropped off in the district office at 1936 Carlotta Drive in Concord. Suggested supplies to fill backpacks include: ballpoint pens, pencils, mechanical pencils, rulers, erasers, 8x11" note pads, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, notebook lined paper, soft pencil cases, hard plastic pencil boxes, portable pencil sharpeners, a calculator, and gym bags for middle and high-school students.
The Mt. Diablo Homeless Outreach Program for Education accepts department store gift cards, checks made out to Mt. Diablo HOPE or PayPal donations at www.mdusd.org.
