  • STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 2000 Honda Civic was stolen overnight in the 1400 block of Elm Street.

  • STOLEN VEHICLE -- A 1991 Honda Accord station wagon was stolen from the 5300 block of Poinsett Avenue.

  • DUI -- A 21-year-old San Jose woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during an 11:30 p.m. traffic stop at San Pablo and Fairmount avenues.

    Saturday, Aug. 2

  • DUI -- A 28-year-old El Cerrito woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 12:40 a.m. at San Pablo Avenue and Moeser Lane.

  • DUI -- A 39-year-old Sausalito woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 1:30 a.m. at San Pablo Avenue and Hill Street.

    Sunday, Aug. 3

  • COMMERCIAL BURGLARY -- Officers responding to a 6:40 a.m. silent alarm at El Cerrito Optometry in El Cerrito Plaza found the front door had been forced open to steal glasses frames.

  • WARRANT ARREST -- During a 6:50 p.m. traffic stop at San Pablo and Potrero avenues, it was determined that the driver, a 25-year-old Richmond man, had an outstanding arrest warrant, as well as a domestic violence protective order. "The protected party was his passenger," according to the report. The man was arrested and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

  • DUI, COLLISION -- Officers responding to a reported 10 p.m. collision in the 1100 block of Navellier Street found a vehicle on its side, with the driver attempting to right the vehicle and flee. The 47-year-old El Cerrito man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

  • DUI -- A 23-year-old Richmond man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at 2:45 a.m. at Cutting Boulevard and South 49th Street.

    Monday, Aug. 4

  • AUTO BURGLARY -- Tools were stolen from a pickup truck toolbox overnight in the 7300 block of Terrace Drive.

  • RESISTING ARREST -- A 27-year-old Richmond man was arrested during a 12:40 a.m. bicycle enforcement stop at San Pablo Avenue and Wall Street for "failing to provide officers with identifying information and attempting to flee the scene."

    Tuesday, Aug. 5

  • RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY -- The front door of a residence in the 6900 block of Cutting Boulevard was kicked open during the day and a case containing about $200 in jewelry was stolen.

  • WARRANT -- A 41-year-old woman was arrested during an 11:15 p.m. pedestrian stop in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue on an El Cerrito warrant for theft and vehicle tampering.

  • DUI -- When an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle seen driving erratically and in the oncoming lane at 11:15 p.m. on Castilla Avenue at South 49th Street it continued for several blocks before stopping. The driver, a 55-year-old Richmond man, then backed his vehicle into the stopped patrol car causing minor damage to both vehicles. He was determined to be under the influence and was arrested.

    Wednesday, Aug. 6

  • AUTO BURGLARY -- The front right window was smashed overnight on a vehicle in the 7400 block of Moeser Lane and property was stolen.

  • TRESPASS -- A person at the Lucky Store in El Cerrito Plaza was arrested at 9:30 a.m. after being detained by the manager for trespassing.

  • STOLEN CREDIT CARDS -- A 29-year-old Richmond man was arrested when he was found in possession of a credit/debit card not in his name during a 9 p.m. pedestrian stop at San Pablo and Plumas avenues.

  • DRUG POSSESSION -- Officers answering a 10:15 p.m. domestic disturbance report at Central Avenue and Oak Street found a woman, 30, and her boyfriend in a verbal altercation. A search of the vehicle and the woman's purse turned up 11 tabs of MDMA, some suspected cocaine, .75 and 12 OxyContin pills and she was arrested.

    Thursday, Aug. 7

  • PETTY THEFT -- Officers responding at 4:15 p.m. to a theft in progress report at the Lucky Store in El Cerrito Plaza arrested an Oakland man, 40, on suspicion of shoplifting $87 worth of liquor.

  • PETTY THEFT -- A 40-year-old Oakland man was arrested for petty theft with prior theft convictions at Safeway on San Pablo Avenue after he was stopped by loss prevention with several bottles of allegedly stolen liquor concealed in his backpack.

  • ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, VANDALISM -- The cleaning crew at the Rialto Cinema Cerrito on San Pablo Avenue reported hearing and seeing someone on the roof of the theater at 2:15 a.m. Officers located and arrested an Albany man, 25, in the parking lot on the Kearney Street side of the theater who "had cuts and other marks on his person consistent with the climb across the rooftop." Police said the roof of the theater appeared damaged in an attempt to enter the building.

    Friday, Aug. 8

  • COMMERCIAL BURGLARY -- The padlock to a gated area of a business in the 6400 block of Fairmount Avenue was cut overnight and a power washer was stolen after a chain securing it to the building's air conditioning units was also cut.

  • RECOVERED VEHICLE -- A city community service officer located a 1987 Nissan Sentra at 6 p.m. in the 700 block of Elm Street that had been reported stolen from the Richmond BART station.

  • RECOVERED VEHICLE -- A 1997 Nissan Sentra reported stolen in Richmond to BART police that days was located by an officer in the 400 block of Norvell Street.

  • DUI -- A Richmond man was arrested for DUI during a traffic stop on San Pablo Avenue by El Cerrito Plaza.

  • POSSESSION -- A Vallejo woman, 42, the passenger of a vehicle in a traffic stop at San Pablo Avenue and San Diego Street, was arrested for possession of two glass pipes used to smoke methamphetamine.

  • DUI -- A Richmond woman, 46 was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Central Avenue and Pierce Street.

  • POSSESSION -- An officer noticed two suspicious subjects riding bicycles westbound on Portola Drive who went in separate directions after seeing the police officer. A second officer responded and contacted a 23-year-old Richmond woman at San Pablo and Tehama avenues who was arrested after she was found to have 3.25 grams of suspected methamphetamine during a search.
