DANVILLE -- Ten-year-old Hannah Stephenson, a youth ambassador for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, is holding a fundraiser to benefit Parkinson's research.
The Cakes for a Cure event will be held Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon in front of Christie James Jewelry Works at 412 Hartz Ave.
The soon-to-be fifth grader at Greenbrook Elementary School will sell baked goods to raise money to help cure the illness that her father, Brian Stephenson, has. She is part of Team Fox, a grass roots local fundraising team that works to bring in donations for the Fox Foundation.
Last year, Hannah raised $4,000 for the foundation and got invited to the MVP Awards dinner with actor Michael J. Fox in New York -- and she is trying to surpass last year's goal.
