The following excerpts are from the Brentwood police logs Aug. 1-9

Friday, AUG. 1

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 2:03 a.m. that someone had entered a house on Pheasant Run Terrace through an unlocked front door and stolen laptop computers.

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 8:47 a.m. that someone had entered a business on Sacred Mountain Lane the previous evening and stolen a laptop computer.

  • LOST CHILD -- An adult contacted police at 9:18 p.m. after arriving at Round Table Pizza and discovering the child in his or her care was not there. Dispatchers figured out that the caller had left the child at Kaiser Permanente in Antioch, where security guards were keeping an eye on the youngster.

    SUNDAY, AUG. 3

  • AUTO THEFT -- Police received a report at 9:51 a.m. that a vehicle had been stolen during the night from in front of a residence on Rampart Way.

    MONDAY, AUG. 4

  • MAIL THEFT -- Police received a report at 9:46 a.m. that someone had broken into mailboxes on Oak Street and stolen property worth an estimated $210.

  • STOP TEXTING -- Police received a report at 3:05 p.m. from someone on Brentwood Boulevard saying that he or she was receiving annoying text messages.

  • PETTY THEFT -- Police received a report at 2:08 p.m. that someone had stolen baby formula from a store on Balfour Road.

    WEDNESDAY, AUG. 6

  • PETTY THEFT -- Police received a report at 10 a.m. that someone opened an unlocked vehicle on Sparrow Court and stole a phone worth about $100.

  • FRAUD -- Police received a report at 10:50 a.m. that someone had used the personal information of a victim on Alderman Lane to open a $2,600 line of credit with a company in Kansas.

  • STOLEN VEHICLE -- Police received a report at 7:49 p.m. that someone had stolen a vehicle on Birch Street.

    THURSDAY, AUG. 7

  • BURGLARY -- Police at 4:59 a.m. arrested suspects who had allegedly been stealing lottery tickets and other merchandise from businesses along the Lone Tree Way corridor. Officers arrested the suspects, took them to the County Jail in Martinez, and had their car towed.

    FRIDAY, AUG. 8

  • ROBBERY -- Police received a report at 8:37 a.m. that someone had assaulted a man at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant at 6051 Lone Tree Way and stolen his cellphone, keys and wallet. The victim, who sustained minor injuries, delayed reporting the incident because he was drunk. The perpetrator later used the victim's credit card in Oakley.

  • BURGLARY -- Police received a report at 3:59 p.m. that someone had cut a hole in the perimeter fencing of the garden area at The Home Depot at 5631 Lone Tree Way. The thief then entered the store, took multiple tools and pushed them through the hole, left the store and collected them on the other side of the fence.

  • GRAND THEFT -- Police received a report at 6:11 p.m. that someone had stolen a catalytic converter from a vehicle on Wayne Drive.

    SATURDAY, AUG. 9

  • GRAND THEFT -- Police received a report at 1:47 p.m. that someone had stolen a catalytic converter from a vehicle on Brookdale Drive.

  • RECKLESS -- An unknown driver fled during a traffic stop at 7:49 p.m. on Lone Tree Way, reaching speeds of more than 90 miles per hour on residential streets. The vehicle was a black, custom truck with no license plates. The chase lasted about 50 seconds until the officers called it off for safety reasons.
