OAKLAND -- A woman killed Thursday night when she was ejected from her motorcycle near the Bay Bridge toll plaza and then struck by at least one vehicle was identified Friday by the Alameda County Coroner's Office as Suna Bayram, 34, of San Francisco.
The California Highway Patrol said Friday that Bayram was found with major injuries at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday on the roadway in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near the toll plaza. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said the investigation determined that Bayram apparently fell from her 2000 Suzuki while riding on the transition ramp from northbound Interstate 880 to westbound I-80.
CHP investigators do not believe the fall was caused by her being hit by another vehicle but have not determined yet why it happened.
Wilkenfeld said Bayram was hit by at least one vehicle while lying in the roadway.
The vehicle continued on without stopping, he said.
Wilkenfeld said investigators are reviewing videotapes from the toll plaza to try to identify the driver of the vehicle that struck Bayram.
Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at 510-450-3821 or 1-800-TELL-CHP.
