WALNUT CREEK -- Third- through fifth-grade classes from central and eastern Contra Costa schools are invited to sign up for a free water science and conservation course in their classrooms this school year.

The goal of the program is to educate more than 7,000 students in the water district's service area about the water cycle, water molecules, water's role in the state's history, conservation and keeping the community's water resources clean. The program is a partnership between the Contra Costa Water District and The Gardens at Heather Farm, and is part of the Garden's Natural Science Classroom series.
