HAYWARD -- A restaurant walk on Oct. 18 will showcase food and drink at 12 downtown eateries.
For $20, those taking part can sample items from Avocado Freddy's, Bombay Masala, Buon Appetito, Buffalo Bill's, Chef's Experience China Bistro, Julian's BBQ, Kupe Studio Restaurant & Lounge, Shark Shack, Snappy's Café, Something Sweet, Swiss Delices (which will be served at Snappy's), Taqueria Los Pericos and the Turf Club.
The walk is 5 to 9 p.m. Only 200 tickets will be sold, and last year's event sold out. Tickets can be purchased at the Hayward Main Library, 835 C St.; the Hayward Chamber of Commerce, 22561 Main St.; and the city manager's office on the fourth floor of Hayward City Hall, 777 B St.
"The restaurants' offerings really reflect Hayward's diversity," said Kim Huggett of the Chamber of Commerce. "The proceeds go to a good cause, and it's a good deal."
Net proceeds will benefit the Hayward Public Library's After School Homework Support Center and Leadership Hayward.
